Palm Springs: Korakia Pensione
If ever there was a place to get away from the business of life, Korakia Pensione is that place.
A few months ago a friend of mine told me that for her 30th birthday she wanted to get a group together and go to Palm Springs. Being that I currently live on the east coast I was already excited at the prospect of going west for a little girls trip, but when I checked out the place my excitement only grew.
Korakia is a beautiful Mediterranean/Moroccan styled resort consisting of individual bungalows for its guests and the grounds are covered in some of the most amazing flowers and trees. They have two pools, fountains, lot's of outdoor patio areas, hammocks, bikes, fire pits, outdoor games, and a spa for their guests to use as well. They have everything you need for a relaxing weekend!
We were there a total of four days and for the most part planned on staying at the resort and laying poolside or relaxing in a hammock. It was nice to start our days out slow by having breakfast on the patio and enjoying some of the best orange juice you've ever had accompanied by whatever food you chose off their daily breakfast menu. All of it was delicious and they make it there on site every morning. From there the only thing on our agenda was to enjoy the peacefulness of the resort because it truly was like a retreat and they want you to want for nothing while you are there.
They have a few different options when it comes to rooms, but they all have lot's of windows to let in all the natural light you could ever want! We stayed on the side across from the main building which personally I think is my favorite (and not just because thats where we stayed, haha) but because that side has a lot of open space and more places to sit and enjoy the outdoors.
Right outside of our room were some chairs and a fire pit that they lit every evening as well as a huge wooden platform covered in cushions where they projected an old movie every night. The quite ambiance of the day definitely carried over into the nights as they light the resort up by lanterns and the numerous fire pits they have place throughout the entire resort. They even have some fire pits built into the ground around the pool which sets a great atmosphere for a night swim!
All in all it was an amazing way to spend four days catching up with friends; soaking in all the nice desert air. I will definitely be returning to Korakia again and maybe I will even try one of their new locations they are opening up!
I'd love to hear if you have ever been or want to go in the future, so leave a comment below! Also if you have anymore questions feel free to ask!
